It’s Homecoming Weekend
There are two or three or four or more great things about Otterbein’s homecoming this weekend.
First, you’re invited to everything.
The parade is Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. at Collegeview and West Main Street, crosses the Main Street bridge and turns onto Grove Street to pass in front of Towers Hall.
Two nights of OtterFest in the parking lot just south of the football field.
Friday night has The British Invasion, Cardinal Pizza ($4 slides), and a Biergarten.
Saturday night will be hosted by Johnny Steiner ’96 and you’ll hear graduates Allison Asarch ’18, Alex Toth ’22, and more and another Biergarten.
There are still tickets for “A Little Night Music” at Cowan Hall.
A memorial for Ruth “Petie” Dodrill is Saturday at 3 p.m. in Cowan Hall.
Oh yes, there’s a football game against Capital at 2 p.m.
Only Two Left
This is the next to the last Saturday Farmers Market in Uptown behind city hall. Opens at 9 a.m. Closes at noon. Come early.
Power To The People!
Take a ride in a bucket truck, with Mom. Or without, at the Public Power Open House at Westerville Electric Division’s demonstration of the equipment they use to keep your house fully powered. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Electric Division’s barn, 139 East Broadway.
One truck and a few workers will not be there. They’re in Florida to help with restoring the power grid after Hurricane Ian.
Swing For The Last Time
Swing’s the Thing is the final Uptown Saturday Night performer for this season.
I’m gonna say it for the last time.
“Be on the lawn in front of city hall beginning at 7 p.m.
“The front lawn is within the DORA perimeter.
“Grab food and drinks from Uptown restaurants.
“Enjoy the show in the shadow of “The American Issue”, a sculpture telling the story of Westerville’s history of prohibition.”
Pancake Breakfast
Wednesday is the monthly pancake breakfast at the Westerville Community Center. Get pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice, and coffee. All for $4.00. Use the Senior Center entrance at the South parking lot. From 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
