Construction Updates
State, College, Home all get upgrades.
Diggin’ for Dunkin’
The first stage of construction began Monday when a crew began marking the location of utility connections on State Street where a Dunkin’ will be built. The two-lane drive-through donut store replaces three buildings at 480 South State Street. One of those buildings was Yogi’s Hoagies.
Mainly, it’s water
Installation of a new six-inch water main on East College from the city parking lot to just past Knox Street is almost complete. The new line upgrades water flow to a section of the city that lacked more modern connections. The street will return to normal as a separate contractor replaces the brick that were removed for the new water main.
Headed for Home
A concrete manhole is lowered into place at the east end of East Home Street where the underground utilities are being upgraded for Home and a portion of East College gets new pavement. Construction has been disruptive and dirty as the normally tranquil section of East Home has seen much more traffic than before.
