Going Mad At Midnight
Monster Madness Mob
Ghosts, goblins, and axes will make this Friday night the most unusual you’ve ever experienced. It’s Midnight Madness in Uptown Westerville.
The top highlight of the evening and there are many highlights, will be the Thriller Flash Mob in front of city hall starting at 8 p.m.
Learn to be Michael
If you don’t think you qualify as a Michael Jackson impersonator for the Thriller Flash Mob, think again. Generations Performing Arts Center and AJ Blankenship are giving free Thriller dance lessons Wednesday night at the Generations satellite studio at 33 East Park Street just behind Dairy Queen. Plenty of parking at the library. Rehearsal begins at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 26.
Uptown Westerville Inc. has an online series of Thriller dance lessons from AJ Blankenship in case you can’t make it to the rehearsal.
Not sure of the psychology and physics of throwing axes? You’ll be able to test any theories yourself when Axes of Spades sets up its mobile axe-throwing booth near city hall. Step into the ring and fling away.
More Food and Fun
Food trucks, and pop-up vendors will be back for the year’s last 4th Friday. State Street is blocked from Park to Home. Bring your scary face, with or without a mask, and enjoy yourself before winter walks its way into the city.
Vendors bring candy for those who want to visit them for a treat, and many of the younger community members enjoy trick-or-treating at Midnight Madness!
Beggar’s Night on Halloween
Trick or treating will be Monday, October 31, 2022, as prescribed by the Mid-Ohio Planning Commission, not the ghosts of Halloween past or goblins of the future.

Also in the city
Zombie lifeguards will be on hand for a haunted trick-or-treat trail through the Community Center. The party then moves to the pool for games, candy and a family swim. Children 6 and under must have a parent in the water with them. Sunday, October 30 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Community Center pool. The cost is $5. Parents free.
Planning Commission will hear two proposals for child care centers, one in a private home, the other in a business center. This follows the city council approving rezoning for a childcare center to be built at State Street and County Line Road.
The City of Westerville Ohio and the Center for Disability Empowerment (CDE) are to help identify the ways we can improve accessibility and inclusivity for people who have disabilities. Register for the discussion Thursday, Oct. 27, from 4-8:30 p.m. at the Community Center.
