Ohio Valley Hometown Reunion

Celebrate Dean Martin and Ohio Valley pizza with a couple of your best friends inside DORA listening to Matt Snow and The Casino players on the city hall green as part of the Ohio Valley Hometown Reunion sponsored by DiCarlo’s Pizza.

There’s a Dean Martin look-a-like contest at 11 a.m. and the Dean Martin concert at 3 p.m. More music on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Last Farmers Market for 2022

Been talking about it for the last couple of weeks and am talking about it again. For the last time, I promise.

Opens at 9 a.m. Closes at noon. Come early behind city hall.

Hoover Fall Classic

Traffic will be a little slower along Sunbury Road Saturday as the Hoover Fall Classic begins at 8 a.m. Dress warmly in the morning, and warmer during the day.

Shredding Day

Clean out the drawers, boxes, closets, basement, attic, garage, and trunk of your car. Take all those important documents that you no longer need or no longer want to store to Shredding Day at Hoff Woods Park from 9 a.m. to noon.

Financial documents, old business papers, and letters from your high school sweetheart are all accepted.

“There is a limit of three boxes per household with no charge for the service. No plastic bags or tubs and boxes should not be taped shut. Please note, shredding services will not take place on site. Please stay in your vehicle. Enter Hoff Woods Park from Westdale Avenue.”

Pumpkin Glow volunteers

Westerville Parks is looking for anyone who wants to give their hands and clothes that smell of spiced pumpkins.

It needs volunteers to carve hundreds of pumpkins that will be displayed at the Great Westerville Pumpkin Glow October 22-23 at Heritage Park.

Signup for your best time and get free admission to Pumpkin Glow for carving pumpkins.

Fire Department Open House Sunday

Westerville Fire Department has a Fire Prevention Week Open House Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Station 111 on West Main Street. It’s a hands-on educational experience for everyone, especially kids.

Fill-A-Cruiser Saturday

Westerville Police Department food collection for Westerville Area Resource Ministry is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walmart, Kroger, and Marc’s. Accepting non-perishable food items.

Serving Westerville

If you’ve wondered what it takes to serve on a Westerville government board or commission then you should attend the Westerville Boards & Commissions Open House at Westerville City Hall (21 S. State St.) from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11. You’ll learn about open volunteer opportunities and meet with current members.

Garden In The Park

Ben Hanby Park is getting a renewal! The Westerville Symphony is leading an effort to work on the landscaping at Ben Hanby Park. This is a community effort to honor our beloved composer Benjamin Hanby. Work is scheduled for this Saturday, October 8 beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing until complete. Bring your gardening tools and gloves. There will be refreshments and direction on the work to be accomplished.
