Sound of Music Back Onstage
Westerville Parks and Recreation Civic Theatre’s production of “The Sound of Music” returns this weekend to the Alum Creek Park North Amphitheater beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, and Saturday, Aug. 20. Pop-up Arcade Night is Saturday - Get Pacin’Man
The city is hosting a video arcade on the walkway just north of city hall Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. with the classics, including PacMan, Tetris, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Super Mario, and Pinball. More Information.
See The Senior Stitchers
The Art and History Series at the Hanby House finishes its season Saturday with a visit from Westerville Senior Center quilters demonstrating techniques in the garden from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The house is open for tours and staffed by guides. This event is free and open to the public. In the event of inclement weather the quilting
demonstrations will take place indoors.
Uptown Saturday Night
Dr. Tony’s Original Ragtime Band says it isn’t a Dixieland band but one “that plays the newest, hottest, most exciting and popular music of the early 20th century including Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, Eubie Blake, W.C. Handy, James P. Johnson, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington and more.”
Sound of Summer Divas’
The final Sounds of Summer concert Sunday at the Alum Creek Amphitheater presents the Divas’. Can’t say it better than the way the Divas’ do:

Community Center Closes for Annual Maintenance
From the city:
In an effort to continue to provide a quality, safe experience for pass holders, the Westerville Community Center will be undergoing its annual maintenance period again this August. The aquatics area will be closed from Aug. 1-Sept. 5 while the entire Community Center will be shut down Aug. 22-28. The Community Center also will observe special hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m.) Aug. 6, Aug. 13 and Aug. 20.
